I Started Alivon Web Because Small Businesses Deserve Real IT Support

My background is a mix of hands-on IT support and the coordination and admin work that keeps organisations running — plus a software engineering degree underneath it all. That combination taught me something most IT people never learn: the technology is only half the job. The other half is explaining it to the person whose business depends on it.

Small businesses around Bristol are stuck in a gap. The big IT companies won't take on a five-person team — or they'll charge enterprise prices for the privilege. So business owners end up relying on a relative who "knows computers", a Google search at 11pm, or simply hoping nothing breaks. Meanwhile the backups don't exist, the router's still on its factory password, and one hard drive failure could take the customer records with it.

Alivon Web exists to fill that gap. When you work with me, you get one person who knows your setup, answers when you call, and explains everything in plain English — what's wrong, what it costs to fix, and honestly, whether it's worth fixing at all. No jargon, no upselling, no making you feel silly for asking.

Alivon Web is the trading name for all of this — but really, you're just working with me.

What You Can Always Expect

These aren't marketing promises — they're how I approach every business I support, whether it's a free health check or a long-term plan.

Plain English, Always

You'll never get a lecture about DNS or firmware. I explain what's wrong, what I'm doing about it, and what it means for your business — in words that make sense.

Someone Who Answers

The whole point of Alivon Web is that you have someone to call. When you get in touch, you hear back within one business day — usually much faster.

Prevention Over Firefighting

Fixing things is fine; stopping them breaking is better. Health checks, monitoring, and quarterly reviews exist so problems get caught while they're still small.

Transparent Pricing

Prices are published on the website and agreed before work starts. Fixed prices per job, flat monthly fees — never an open-ended hourly bill you're afraid to look at.

Local & On-Site

Based in Bristol, working with businesses in and around the city. Plenty can be fixed remotely — but when a visit is what's needed, I'm nearby, not on the end of a national helpline.

Honest Recommendations

If your setup is fine, I'll say so. If a £30 cable fixes it, you won't be sold a £300 solution. Trust is the entire business model — I'd rather keep yours than win one invoice.

The Things That Keep a Small Business Running

Every health check and support visit works through the same core areas — so nothing gets missed.

Networks & Wi-Fi

Reliable coverage across your whole workspace, guest networks kept separate from business traffic, and routers that aren't running ten-year-old settings.

Backups & Data Safety

Backups that run automatically, live somewhere safe beyond your office, and — crucially — are tested so they'll actually restore when you need them.

Devices & Updates

Computers kept updated, protected, and healthy — with honest advice on when an ageing machine is worth maintaining and when it's costing you more than it saves.

Passwords & Security

Two-factor authentication on the accounts that matter, an end to shared logins and reused passwords, and simple habits that close the most common doors to trouble.

Let's Take a Look at Your Setup

The free health check is a no-pressure way to find out where your business stands. Worst case, you get an honest written summary and we part as friends.
